Product Description
GMS 40/90 Glycerol Monostearate is a glycerol ester of stearic acid supplied as a milky-white to light-yellow wax-like solid.
It is commonly used as an emulsifying and surface-active ingredient in food and cosmetic formulations and also has applications in selected plastic and industrial processing systems.
The material is insoluble in water and soluble in grease, paraffin, alcohol, chloroform, acetone, and ether. Its referenced HLB range is 3.6-4.2.
Commercial quality is evaluated through appearance, free glycerin, acid value, residue on ignition, arsenic, and lead specifications.
